Getting back into the swing of things after a few weeks of being off work has been a little bit of a challenge- mainly in the whole “waking up at 6:30 again every morning” department. Being back to getting things at work done and being back in stained glass has been good despite my increased need for vats of coffee.
The Apartment Therapy January Cure is my jam right now in my efforts to declutter and cozy-ify my apartment. I did it last year in my old apartment and it really made me spruce up the place. Sign up and you can join in- it’s free and it’s a great way to show your home some love!
These beautiful photos from Honestly WTF show the beauty of the textile manufacturing process. If you’ve ever wondered what that looks like, check it out. It’ll make you appreciate your threads just a little bit more.
I’ve still been obsessing about Making a Murderer on Netflix since I finished it a week or so ago, and the hype out there seems to be growing at a steady rate. Disdain for the members of the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Dept. responsible for Avery’s conviction is even greater than the show’s hype. I really wish people would exercise caution when deciding that Steven Avery is innocent- we might not know without a reasonable doubt that he’s indeed innocent, but we do know that the trial was botched and not conducted in an ethical manner. Steven’s nephew, Brendan Dassey is another story in my mind completely- I really do hope that he’s able to garner an appeal and get justice. I won’t go into details about it just in case you haven’t checked it out yet. I can’t imagine serving any time in prison for a crime I didn’t commit, let alone decades behind bars.
This project from Seaweed Kisses is on my list for this new year. It would be a great outlet for me to get my thoughts out there visually. I’ve always been a paper planner kind of girl, and use a Passion Planner to plan my days out. There’s something therapeutic about writing it all down on paper.
The rainy week here in San Diego has been an odd one, complete with a tornado warning and super heavy amounts of rain by SoCal standards; there must be something in the water the way things have been going. Stay warm and kind out there, friends.
