Wanderlust: DTLA + Echo Park

Girls’ weekend in Los Angeles was a great success. I think it was just the getaway that the three of us busy working women needed.

We stayed at the Ace Hotel in Downtown LA and really enjoyed the hotel’s laid-back vibe. Opened in 2014, the Ace DTLA was built inside an old theater building- giving the hotel a old-time, history-filled city feel. Our room featured a panoramic skyline view and modern, yet eclectic furnishings. The rooftop area featured an awesome bar serving luxe cocktails, and a live DJ. A cool hangout and a cool place to hang our hats for the weekend.

Venturing out during the day, we made the short trek to Echo Park, near Silverlake. Echo Park is a neat neighborhood with funky restaurants and shops, including Origami Vinyl, Lemon Frog Shop, Spacedust, and The Time Travel Mart to name a few.

I ended up finding a Colette pin (which is super rare for me to find anything with my name on it), a beautiful handcrafted floral maxi dress, and a funny book for my dad for his birthday. I also had one of the best cups of coffee I’ve tasted in my life, at Tierra Mia Coffee on Alvarado St.
